I could hardly leave when my time came to depart beautiful rural North Dakota, but the Berg Farm has a strong pull, and unparalleled customer service, so I am bound to return eventually.

Best hospitality north of the cities. Organic garden, inspirational remodeled kitchen, and toys for all ages which kept the whole family busy for hours! Very wholesome.

Berg Family Farm is a heck of a farm. It houses a heck of a family.

1. Herds of wild cats roam the farm all willy nilly, resist herding, and terrorize the local mice. This is both endearing but also somewhat intimidating once the kittens come of age and begin menacing you.

Always a pleasant experience, with great accommodations, food, and camaraderie.

Congenial hospitality, wholesome food, wonderful people. Highly recommended!

I was forced to spend a significant amount of time here, but boy I am glad that I did. The locals are friendly, and everyone really treats you like family. However, while this is a 5-star review, there are a few areas for possible improvement:

3. The Berg children are almost universally handsome, intellectually curious, belligerent, and prone to bouts of shoulder-shaking laughter and fits of hysterics. A few of the more ragged-looking children claimed to have ridden their bicycles across the Americas...unclear if they are to be believed or trusted.

2. The promotional photos seem deceptively edited to reflect the one week of summer, as opposed to the 51 weeks of bitter, dark, cold winter. I didn't realize what I was in for until our first battle with a bunch of white walkers. "Fun, but life-threatening" could be a great advertising slogan.
